Rakuten selected Pandora FMS Enterprise (provided by Rworks, Inc.) to replace a 10-year-old monitoring system that could no longer keep up with rapid service growth, virtualization and cloud migration. The company faced more than 10,000 monitoring targets with 20–30% annual growth, rising costs, and a requirement for easy data migration, redundancy and continuity of existing operational processes.

Pandora FMS deployed an integrated, redundant monitoring framework (HA SYSLOG/SNMP, IPv4 5+1 and IPv6 1+1 monitoring across two data centers) and provided APIs that Rakuten used to migrate several tens of thousands of items in one day via a custom conversion program. The Pandora FMS solution delivered seamless migration, preserved operational workflows, reduced total cost of ownership and lowered monitoring costs by about 40%.
