PagerDuty Helps CTC Transform Operations in a Remote World

Chicago Trading Company (CTC) is a derivatives trading firm whose always-on trading operations depend on critical applications staying available 20 hours a day, six days a week. As CTC shifted to a remote-first model, it struggled with outdated on-call schedules, manual incident handling, alert overload, and poor communication across teams—making fast response essential. PagerDuty helped CTC modernize incident management with its platform and Slack integration.

PagerDuty centralized CTC’s incident response, improved remote collaboration, and used PagerDuty Event Intelligence to reduce noisy alert storms by automatically grouping related alerts. The results were faster MTTA/MTTR, less alert fatigue, smoother shift handoffs, and better visibility across 24×7 services; alert volume dropped from about 50–200 alerts at once to just 5–10. PagerDuty also gave CTC a scalable way to manage incidents across AWS and improve business continuity.
