Anaplan, the connected planning platform based in San Francisco, needed a better way to manage incidents as it worked to keep its services always on and available. Before using PagerDuty, its alerting process was fragmented and reactive, with engineers overwhelmed by irrelevant alerts and slow response times that could affect customer forecasting and planning.
PagerDuty helped Anaplan shift to a proactive, service-based incident management model using PagerDuty AIOps and alerting. The results included nearly 48,000 unnecessary alerts eliminated, MTTA reduced from 2–3 hours to 5 minutes, MTTR for critical incidents cut from about 3 hours to under 30 minutes, and an estimated quarter-million dollars in annual savings.
