Veritiv, a Fortune 500 distributor of packaging, facility supplies and print products, worked with Pactum AI to address a complex supplier base of 5,000 to 6,000 suppliers, where 80% of spend was concentrated with just 20% of suppliers. The company lacked clear visibility into its long-tail suppliers and what they were buying, leaving many supplier relationships outdated and financially suboptimal.
Using Pactum AI’s agentic AI for autonomous negotiations, Veritiv identified weaknesses in its supply base, uncovered “golden nuggets” in the long tail, and gathered previously missing data such as price sheets and sustainability and DEI reports. The result was more efficient supplier deals, improved long-tail management, and positive supplier feedback, with Veritiv also seeing opportunities for additional COGS savings and new supplier relationships.
