Todis, an Italian retail chain known for a broad private-label assortment and weekly promotional flyers, faced a pandemic-driven challenge when lockdowns made physical flyer distribution impractical. Working with agency Digital Angels, Todis turned to Outbrain to drive quality traffic to its website so consumers could discover nearby promotions at the moment they were ready to engage.
Todis tested Outbrain’s Carousel Smartad—showcasing up to 10 cascading images with tailored CTAs—and used Lookalike Audiences to reach new, similar users. The campaign delivered stronger engagement and quality traffic: 41 seconds average time on page, a 0.39% CTR with Lookalike (vs. 0.20% for standard campaigns), a 93% increase in new users and a 7% rise in return visits.
