Singapore EDB Attracts and Engages Senior Business Decision-Makers with Outbrain

The Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB), the government agency responsible for attracting foreign direct investment, relaunched Singapore Business News (SBN) in 2014 to showcase FDI announcements and Asian business trends. EDB’s challenge was to grow SBN’s subscriber base and expand content distribution to senior business audiences in the United States, increasing awareness and engagement among potential investors and decision-makers.

EDB partnered with MEC and used Outbrain Amplify to target premium publishers, amplify fresh, tailored content and optimize headlines and site experience. In six months the campaign drove a 40% increase in daily traffic, a 400% lift in headline click-through rates, about 900 engaged new visitors per day, 3 minutes average time on site, 90% first-time visitors and a 66% rise in engaged users, ultimately converting readers into newsletter sign-ups.
