Ntv, the German news channel and publisher, wanted to increase monetization and click-through rates on its ticker pages, which were difficult to monetize effectively. To address this challenge, ntv worked with Outbrain and its Smartfeed technology to create a more engaging, personalized recommendation experience.
Outbrain implemented a “Read More” button that let users expand ticker pages with one click while enabling Smartfeed monetization and additional editorial and sponsored recommendations. The results were strong: Smartfeed viewability increased by 788%, RPM rose by 625%, organic CTR improved by 426%, and the “Read More” button achieved a 33% click rate.
