InnoGames, a developer of free-to-play desktop and mobile games (including Forge of Empires), needed to acquire new players who were likely to make in‑game purchases and maximize lifetime value (LTV). Their challenge was reaching the right users on the right device while accurately measuring profitability over time.
Partnering with Outbrain, InnoGames used device/OS targeting, Lookalike Audiences, audience exclusion and server-to-server integration to send users to bespoke landing pages or directly to app stores. The campaign drove over 200,000 new gamers, lifted iOS LTV per gamer by 15% versus other channels, and allowed InnoGames to scale investment roughly 10× in six months.
