Planet Media, founded in 2000, is an independent French digital media group serving digitally connected seniors across brands such as Planet.fr, Medisite.fr and Zest, reaching more than 14 million readers monthly and over 4 million subscribers. Faced with the need to develop new growth models for both audience and monetization, the publisher sought a more flexible commercial approach than a traditional guaranteed revenue contract.
Partnering with Outbrain, Planet Media moved to a revshare model (implemented in September 2019) that enabled continuous testing and optimization of formats, placements and audience-targeted integrations—including early adoption of prebid.js and Outbrain products like Smartlogic and Audience Campaign. That flexibility helped drive a 30% increase in revenue and an 11% uplift in RPM in Q4 2020 versus Q4 2019.
