Case Study: Entel achieves 50% cost reduction and sub-two-day deployments with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure

A Oracle Case Study

Preview of the Entel Case Study

Entel expands using VMware apps running in Oracle Cloud, cuts costs by 50%

Entel, a leading Chilean telecom with operations in Peru, faced rising demand for mobile and data services and needed to become more digital and agile. Legacy systems were costly and slow—new products took more than three months to launch, online channels lacked features, and over 100 people were required to operate aging infrastructure—so Entel launched its Transformación Digital Entel to move to the cloud.

Working with Oracle and using Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (including support for existing VMware workloads), Entel migrated hundreds of applications without full re‑architecture and retained control of VMware updates. The move cut infrastructure implementation time from months to under two days, reduced hardware costs by 50%, and cut administration and monitoring effort by 90%, while adding improved security, high‑performance compute, and Oracle Analytics for better forecasting, fraud detection, and credit‑risk assessment.
