A Oracle NetSuite Case Study
Schaeffer Manufacturing Company, a St. Louis–based producer of synthetic motor oils founded in 1839, was outgrowing a 25-year-old, fragmented AS/400 system. Rapid sales growth and larger customers’ demand for automated ordering and payments exposed cumbersome manual processes that slowed shipments and forced a choice between an expensive ERP or a complex integration of point solutions.
Schaeffer chose NetSuite (with OzLINK for EDI integration) to replace its legacy systems for accounting, order management, purchasing, inventory and CRM, automating the entire order-to-shipment process. The result: sales rose from $85M to $130M without adding customer service or accounting headcount, shipping time improved 25% with orders processed in minutes instead of days, EDI order entry jumped from 30% to 70% (with 95% of orders processed through EDI), and annual savings included $100,000 in programming and $14,000 in paper costs.
