Siemens PLM Professional Services, a global software services division, was struggling with 15 disparate professional-services systems, overly complex non‑standard processes and no clear view of global or regional resource utilization. The division also wanted to avoid extending its SAP client‑server footprint because of the cost and complexity of maintaining remote installations.
Siemens implemented NetSuite OpenAir via employee workshops and a nine‑month, phased rollout (resource management first, then time capture and other modules) across Benelux, the Americas, Europe and Asia/South Pacific. The new cloud system now automates more than 3,000 projects in 15+ countries, gives visibility into 2,700 resources and 1,500 skill sets, enables global utilization and revenue forecasting, supports multi‑currency reporting, and replaced legacy SAP, Salesforce.com, eRealm and PLM tools.
