SEMI, the San Jose–based nonprofit industry association for suppliers in the micro- and nano-electronics industries, needed a more robust, global financial system to manage increasingly complex international operations. The organization struggled with manual processes and poor integration between its legacy Intacct ERP and Adaptive Insights planning tool, and faced inconsistent vendor support that hindered timely financial consolidation and reporting.

SEMI implemented NetSuite OneWorld (going live in January 2013 with minimal professional services) to standardize on-demand global financials and multi-currency processing. The rollout delivered real-time subsidiary visibility, simplified consolidation, faster month-end close (from seven to four days), fixed-asset reporting reduced from hours to under an hour, improved budgeting and expense workflows, and the operational efficiency to better serve its 1,900 member companies while expanding OneWorld across multiple country subsidiaries.
