Guide Dogs for the Blind Finds its Way to Organizational Efficiency with NetSuite

Guide Dogs for the Blind is a nonprofit founded in 1942 that trains about 300 guide dog teams a year and supports 2,200 active teams across the U.S. and Canada. With a $40M budget and 280 employees, the organization faced an antiquated accounting system and heavy reliance on manual, spreadsheet-based processes that hampered reporting, forecasting and donor transparency after a new CFO joined.

The organization implemented NetSuite’s cloud ERP, leveraging Pro Bono customization to fit its needs—such as an automated script that tracks balances for roughly 150 puppy clubs. NetSuite enabled self-service reporting, accurate forecasting, easier donor and annual reporting, and replaced time-consuming manual work with more strategic finance operations, improving visibility and organizational efficiency.
