Universal Import & Export Ltd is a family‑run wholesale distributor in Paola, Malta, founded in 1972 that grew from textile imports into packaging, adhesives, medical manufacturing and service offerings, reaching about €3.4m in revenue with 20–49 staff. As the business diversified and began shipping overseas, its on‑premise Sage system and aging server could no longer handle inventory, purchasing and multi‑channel requirements.

In 2015 Universal moved to cloud‑based NetSuite ERP and CRM with implementation partner Softype, replacing Sage and enabling real‑time financial, inventory and customer reporting. The change delivered leaner purchasing, easier decision‑making and roughly 10% average annual growth since implementation, while supporting new e‑commerce, light manufacturing and expanded service and export operations.
