Fisher Science Education, a distributor of science supplies to school systems, was facing plateauing subscriptions for its decade-old printed customer publication, Headline Discoveries. Rising content, printing and distribution costs — combined with limited customer insights — made it difficult to expand the publication’s reach, profile readers for targeted content, and measure ROI.
Using Oracle Marketing Cloud, Fisher repurposed quarterly print content into targeted monthly email nurture campaigns, applied progressive profiling and data management to personalize content, and offered co-op advertising to suppliers. The campaign added 30,000 subscribers (a 55% opt-in increase), grew annual revenue by 7.5% (versus 0–2% for competitors), delivered about 18% revenue growth for participating suppliers, and established Fisher as a marketing leader in its industry.
