Case Study: AirBorn achieves faster quoting and 70% fewer order errors with Oracle CPQ

A Oracle CPQ Case Study

Preview of the AirBorn Case Study

AirBorn keeps space missions on course with the help of Oracle Cloud

AirBorn, a manufacturer of spacecraft cables, harnesses, and connectors used by customers like NASA and Lockheed Martin, struggled to help buyers find and order the right parts because individual connectors could have up to 20,000 combinations. Their legacy parts builder didn’t integrate with four on‑premise ERP systems, forcing manual order entry and causing quote cycles to stretch up to two weeks. AirBorn selected Oracle CPQ as part of the Oracle Cloud CX suite (including Oracle CX Service and Oracle CX Commerce) to address these challenges.

Using Oracle CPQ together with Oracle CX Service and Oracle CX Commerce, AirBorn digitized its printed catalogs, added natural‑language search and self‑service product configuration, and integrated configuration output directly into ERP to auto‑create bills of material, costs, lead times, and prices. The integrated Oracle CPQ solution cut quote creation from as long as two weeks to a few hours, reduced order input times to minutes from several days, and lowered order creation and processing errors by 70%, while enabling new offerings such as on‑demand stress‑testing services.
