A Oracle Aconex Case Study
Heathrow Airport’s US$3.2 billion redevelopment of Terminal 2 required 67 shops and restaurants to be fitted out and fully operational for the terminal’s 2014 opening. The project involved hundreds of companies exchanging massive volumes of project information under strict naming and coding standards, creating a need for better coordination and a robust, secure web environment separate from Heathrow’s own IT infrastructure.
Oracle Customer Success configured a project controls solution to match Heathrow’s workflows and file-system hierarchy, trained the project team, and provided a scalable cloud platform. More than 7,000 documents were uploaded, 350+ users logged in daily during peak phases with no service interruptions, and all 67 retail units were commissioned and operational by opening day, materially reducing delivery risk.
