IBM - Customer Case Study

IBM, a global technology and research company, needed a catalog platform to take its procurement processes to the next level and realize a vision of automated, guided buying. In 2009 IBM selected OpusCapita’s catalog and contract price management solution along with its search-and-shop technology to standardize product data and support a consumer-like shopping experience across the organization.

OpusCapita integrated its solution with IBM’s internal procurement system by 2011 and rolled it out in 90 countries, managing over 4 million items from 5,000 catalog suppliers. OpusCapita’s platform enriched supplier product data where needed, enabled guided and cognitive buying (including connection to IBM Watson), and helped IBM achieve 85% hands-free processing of procurement orders, substantially automating catalog-based spend.
