Xerox meets shifting needs with a cloud-based environment

Xerox, a longtime innovator in printing and document services, needed to modernize its SMART Centre—an internal and partner-facing site used by up to 7,000 unique visitors a month—to better serve sales teams and reduce the costs and downtime associated with its legacy Ektron CMS and locally hosted servers. The UK&I team aimed to move to a cloud-first approach to cut server spend and improve performance and user experience.

Xerox migrated the SMART Centre to Optimizely’s Digital Experience Platform, gaining high availability, easier integrations and advanced analytics. The move delivered significant cost savings, reduced downtime, and about a two-second improvement in average page load times, while adding new functionality such as a tools marketplace and AI-driven recommendations to streamline the sales journey and inform future content strategy.
