The University of South Australia (UniSA), facing COVID-19 disruption to in‑person recruitment and a shift in how students wanted to engage, needed a new digital approach to replace traditional open days. Existing pain points included mobile and device issues, limited chat and Q&A, manual registration and reporting, and a need to reach domestic and international audiences with a hybrid experience.
Partnering with Sudo Roux, UniSA deployed the Optimizely suite (Content, Commerce and Intelligence Clouds) in under two months to deliver a scalable calendar of virtual events — including 350 webpages, 60 videos, 25 webinars, 155 campus tours and 51 study booths — with translation, advanced analytics and CRM integration. The virtual open days drove strong student engagement, removed attendance limits, sped deployment, and gave staff better segmentation and insights for follow‑up.
