Royal Ahrend, a 125‑year‑old international leader in commercial furniture operating in 20+ countries under four brands, faced rapid shifts in customer needs as COVID‑19 changed how people work. To support new B2B and B2C journeys—like employee‑directed home office purchases—and to deliver personalized, secure ordering and delivery, Ahrend needed a modern, scalable digital platform and seamless customer journeys across touchpoints.

Working with Optimizely and partner 4NG, Ahrend built a multi‑brand digital customer platform on Optimizely Content Cloud and Commerce Cloud, integrated with Salesforce and single sign‑on to employer HR systems for catalogue access. The solution launched customer‑specific webshops, enabled secure home delivery and centralized analytics; Ahrend is now more data‑driven—tracking conversion and satisfaction to optimize journeys—and positioned to further integrate systems for an even more seamless customer experience.
