Amerhart, a Midwest distributor of lumber and building materials founded in 1940, set out to modernize its customer experience as younger buyers and digital expectations grew. Its legacy ERP vendor ecommerce solution lacked search, rich product content, account functionality and personalization, so leadership built a team to find a purpose-built B2B commerce platform that could handle complex catalogs, ERP and PIM integration and a more consumer-like buying experience.

Amerhart implemented Optimizely B2B Commerce Cloud with inRiver PIM and ERP integrations, plus catalog management, analytics and automated product lists. Since launching in February 2019 the site has grown month-over-month, with 4,000+ registered users, a customer recommendation score averaging 8.7, digitally engaged customers placing 30% more orders, and users with product lists ordering at twice the rate of those without—while internal processes became faster and more data-driven.
