Lenovo plants 2,200+ trees and offsets 1,225+ tonnes of CO2 with Opia

Lenovo, a global technology company, faced the challenge of boosting sales while amplifying its commitment to sustainability, particularly for its small and medium business customers. They needed a compelling promotion that provided a financial incentive and also highlighted their environmental, social, and governance (ESG) messaging to build brand loyalty. Partnering with vendor Opia, they sought a solution that would offer a clear value proposition and align with their greener brand message.

Opia implemented a trade-in promotion program for Lenovo. The solution offered customers 20% cashback on new devices when trading in old ones, coupled with a strong sustainability promise: planting a tree, offsetting CO2, and ensuring all devices were refurbished, reused, or recycled. The results were significant, with Opia's program helping Lenovo plant over 2,200 trees, offset more than 1,225 tonnes of CO2, and achieve an 88% refurbishment and reuse rate for all traded-in devices.
