British Airways manages software development with Micro Focus® software

British Airways replaced an internally developed change-management tool for its critical mainframe applications with a commercial solution to free developers to focus on business support and to improve tracking, auditing and repeatable deployment processes for systems supporting finance, fuel management, flight operations and back-office functions.

BA implemented Micro Focus ChangeMan ZMF to manage delivery across 38 mainframe applications, enforcing a full lifecycle process—development, functional testing, user acceptance testing, audit and controlled promotion to production—with automated approval checks and cross-platform integration. The solution improved control and auditability of changes, scaled with a development team of 80–120, and has been relied on long-term as BA migrated to newer ChangeMan versions and expanded its use.
