The City of North Canton Steps Into Its Second Century With Online Rental Registration

The City of North Canton was relying on paper-based processes for rental registration and other permitting tasks, which made modernization difficult and online payment collection nearly impossible. To keep up with growing rental demand, the City turned to OpenGov and selected OpenGov Permitting & Licensing to replace manual workflows with a more flexible digital system.

OpenGov implemented the solution quickly, finishing a planned four-month rollout about six weeks early and helping North Canton go live in November 2022. The City is now expanding OpenGov beyond rental registration to fire, parking, and administration use cases, improving online payments, tracking, and workflow efficiency while still supporting in-person and offline options for residents.
