A OpenGov Case Study
Reimagining Gary, IN, the City of Gary, IN, needed to modernize outdated, in-person permitting and licensing processes that were time-consuming for both residents and staff. To support its digital transformation, the city chose OpenGov Permitting & Licensing to move these services online and simplify how people do business with the city.
OpenGov helped launch Gary Online for online licensing, permitting, and FOIA request tracking, making workflows more transparent and collaborative across departments. The result was increased license and permit revenue, better staff efficiency, and stronger interdepartmental coordination, while giving customers the convenience of completing requests from home, office, or kiosks.
