Procurement as a Partner in Growth in Palm Desert, CA

The City of Palm Desert, CA needed a faster, more centralized way to manage procurement as it faced growth, staff turnover, and increased demand for infrastructure and development projects. Already using OpenGov’s Budgeting & Planning Suite, the City turned to OpenGov Procurement to simplify purchasing and make it easier for local and diverse suppliers to bid on city work.

OpenGov implemented Procurement in under three months, helping Palm Desert automate solicitation development and move from lengthy in-person scoring sessions to a more transparent, collaborative process. The City closed its first RFx on March 1, with staff able to evaluate bids in real time from their desks, significantly reducing evaluation time and improving efficiency for both internal teams and suppliers.
