A OpenGov Case Study
Colerain Township, OH needed a better way to share financial data internally and with the public, since key budget information was trapped in individual Excel files and not visible across departments. Using OpenGov Budgeting and Planning, the Township set out to improve transparency, track program effectiveness, and modernize how it communicated its work to residents.
OpenGov helped Colerain Township connect data across departments, publish strategic plan information publicly, and build virtual permitting, licensing, and code enforcement workflows. The results included a more than 60% productivity improvement in budgeting and planning, a ten-year high of nearly 400 new building permits processed quickly, and the highest possible transparency score from the Ohio State Auditor, with all 7 best-practice transparency requirements met.
