A OpenGov Case Study
The Hillsboro, Oregon Joint Water Commission (JWC) struggled with paper-heavy record keeping and manual support-ticket tracking, which took time away from preventative maintenance and other operations work. To better manage thousands of assets across its 17-person team, JWC turned to OpenGov’s Cartegraph asset management platform.
OpenGov helped JWC centralize records, automate work orders and reports, and give field staff mobile access to real-time information. As a result, the organization became far more proactive: between 2014 and 2015, JWC spent 2,697 hours on proactive tasks versus just 81 hours on reactive maintenance, reducing reactive maintenance to 3% of total time and improving efficiency, visibility, and team coordination.
