A OpenGov Case Study
The City of Gahanna needed to replace its legacy permitting process, which was slow, paper-heavy, and frustrating for both staff and residents. With OpenGov Permitting & Licensing, the city sought a more user-friendly way to manage applications, inspections, and approvals while reducing walk-ins, phone calls, and manual work.
OpenGov implemented an automated, configurable permitting and licensing system with conditional logic and workflow consolidation across departments. After going live, Gahanna cut average application approval time from 12 days to 5 days, reduced fence permit approvals from six weeks to hours, and increased on-time rental property applications by 45%, while also sharply lowering phone inquiries and office visits.
