City of Plano, TX Inventories 81,000+ Water Service Lines to Meet LCRR Requirements and Inform Residents

The City of Plano needed to meet Lead and Copper Rule Revision (LCRR) requirements by building a complete inventory of more than 81,000 water service lines, including material type, location, and address. Using spreadsheets was too cumbersome, so Plano turned to OpenGov Enterprise Asset Management with an Esri ArcGIS integration to better organize and visualize its asset data.

OpenGov helped the City of Plano combine GIS, historical records, as-built drawings, and repair documentation to create the inventory and reduce unnecessary field work. The city identified over 92% of public service lines and 50% of private-side lines as non-lead, cutting the number of field inspections needed and enabling a public-facing map for property owners to view service line material at their address.
