A OpenGov Case Study
The City of Edgewood, a small city with an annual budget of $14 million, needed a way to bring factual data to critical conversations, such as a proposal to increase real estate taxes. The city's administration turned to OpenGov and its reporting and transparency software to quickly access and visualize financial data for stakeholders.
Using OpenGov's platform, the City Administrative Officer was able to instantly generate clear data visualizations, like a pie chart, during a council meeting. This allowed the city to have a fact-based discussion that resulted in the measure passing. With OpenGov, the city secured the funding to hire four new firefighters, a direct community impact that helped keep emergency response times to a minimum.
