Quality Center for Rehabilitation and Healing, a 280-resident CareRite skilled nursing facility in Lebanon, Tennessee, struggled with a complex, time-consuming scheduling process that relied on five external sources for coverage. Coordinating agency and independent workers, enticed employees to pick up shifts, and managing CNA schedules (which took nearly 80 hours weekly) was inefficient and led to over- and under-scheduling and lower visibility into staffing needs.
By implementing OnShift in January 2024 and enabling the ShiftKey + OnShift integration (SAMI) in April 2024, the community consolidated external staffing, eliminated three agencies, and automated gap-filling. The result: 2,500+ shifts filled via the integration, a 70% reduction in agency usage, 50% less time spent managing the schedule, a 20% increase in employee-filled shifts, a 19% drop in unfilled shifts, CNA scheduling time cut in half, and measurable improvements in care quality and employee satisfaction.
