Holland Management operates four senior living properties in Northeastern Ohio, including The Country Club Retirement Campus in Ashtabula, a CCRC serving 135 residents with more than 100 staff. The campus struggled with paper-based scheduling, hidden staffing peaks, overtime and time-consuming manual processes that pulled managers away from resident care and drove up labor costs.
Holland restructured scheduling, assigned Crews Directors to manage shifts, and implemented OnShift to align staffing to census and HPPD targets. Automated scheduling, real-time visibility and better communications eliminated overstaffing, cut labor costs by $158,000 in the first year, improved scheduling efficiency by over 70%, reduced overtime to about 1%, and increased staff satisfaction — prompting rollout across Holland’s other properties.
