A OnShift Case Study
Brightwater Senior Living, which operates 12 communities with about 1,200 employees, sought to preserve its people-first culture while addressing operational strain: manual administration for feedback and rewards, outdated scheduling tools and inconsistent processes that stressed schedulers and left shifts unfilled, and a growing need for flexible work options that was hurting employee satisfaction.
Brightwater implemented OnShift Schedule and OnShift Engage to centralize scheduling, enable mobile shift viewing/swapping and auto-approvals, capture frequent employee feedback via short automated surveys and in-app messaging, and automate rewards and recognition. The changes drove a 50% reduction in overtime, a 51% cut in agency hours, a 94% average employee satisfaction rate, 28,011 surveys collected in one year, and 1,195 auto-approved shift requests that saved schedulers roughly 100 hours.
