Dell needed a secure, convenient way for traveling or work‑from‑home employees and contractors to access only the applications and data they’re authorized to use, while eliminating the management overhead and security risks of VPN. To address this, Dell implemented One Identity’s Cloud Access Manager to provide browser‑based access tied to Active Directory and existing identity controls.

One Identity’s Cloud Access Manager centralized access on a single landing page, extended AD‑based single sign‑on, integrated with Active Roles and optional second‑factor authentication, and eliminated the need for VPN configuration. The deployment reduced security risk by limiting contractor access to a subset of resources (for example, contractors can now access only Oracle to report hours), made remote access easier for hundreds of remote users, and simplified administration while improving overall security.
