Marriott International, a global hotel operator with more than 3,700 properties and roughly 300,000 associates, needed a more efficient way to deliver its “Breakthrough Leadership Program” to managers across 733 hotels in 23 countries. The original live, location-based training required extensive travel for trainers and participants, creating logistical challenges, high costs, and limited reach in secondary and tertiary markets.
Marriott partnered with ON24 to build a customized virtual learning environment offering live webcasts, on-demand content, interactive Q&A, networking lounges and a virtual briefcase for resources. The platform enabled both synchronous and asynchronous learning, certified more than 5,000 managers in 18 months (with overview sessions for about 10,000 more), delivered significant travel and cost savings, boosted engagement and productivity, and now serves as a scalable tool for future virtual summits and culture-building.
