Benefitfocus, a Charleston-based cloud software company that unifies the U.S. benefits industry, had to pivot its flagship One Place Conference when COVID-19 made an in-person event impossible. With just eight business days to rework the agenda and delivery, the company needed a fast, flexible platform to preserve the conference’s learning, networking and branding value.

Benefitfocus used the ON24 platform to run a simulive, on-demand summit—pre-recording the keynote and 14 breakouts, organizing persona-based tracks in an Engagement Hub, collecting real-time attendee feedback and chapterizing sessions for easy on-demand access. The result was a 200% increase in attendance over the planned in-person event, richer engagement and behavioral data, continued on-demand viewership, and a lasting shift toward a digital-first event strategy.
