New England Motor Freight uses Technology to Improve Operations

New England Motor Freight (NEMF) is a large regional LTL carrier operating about 900 trucks from 27 terminals across the eastern U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico. Facing growing customer demand for real-time freight visibility and more efficient routing, NEMF needed a dynamic dispatch tool to complement its AS400 legacy system so dispatchers could see route progress and add pickups during the day.

NEMF implemented Omnitracs Roadnet’s MobileCast, a real-time dispatch and tracking solution that integrated with existing systems and required minimal training. MobileCast gave dispatchers route visibility and the ability to dynamically assign stops, leading to reduced driver hours, higher revenue per driver-hour, more serviceable stops per hour, lower miles per stop, and improved customer service via web-based tracking.
