LKQ Corporation, a leading distributor of alternative and specialty auto parts with more than 400 locations across the U.S. and Canada, needed to meet a one-business-day delivery promise but relied on its ERP and drivers to plan routes. That approach put the burden of optimization on drivers, reduced visibility, increased driver hours and delivery costs, and was complicated by last-minute orders and two separate, nonintegrated business systems (aftermarket and salvage).
LKQ implemented Omnitracs Roadnet Anywhere integrated with its ERP to generate optimized, visible routes delivered electronically or on paper. The solution corrected inefficient routing practices, became part of daily operations, and produced measurable savings—one region saw a 9% reduction in cost-per-route in Q1 2017—while enabling greater route consolidation and positioning LKQ for dynamic routing and full system integration.
