Golden Eagle Distributors, a Tucson‑based Anheuser‑Busch wholesaler managing 2,400+ accounts and roughly 11 million cases per year across six distribution centers, needed to modernize delivery operations for better route efficiency, driver accountability, real‑time visibility and faster customer service. With a mix of pre‑sale, driver‑sale, chain and draft routes, the executive team wanted wireless dispatch and tracking to proactively manage exceptions and simplify brewer‑mandated reporting.
They deployed the Omnitracs Roadnet suite — Roadnet, Territory Planner, MobileCast and Info Center — equipping drivers with MobileCast on Nextel phones to capture GPS and arrival/departure times and provide live tracking and centralized delivery data. The result was a 10–12% reduction in mileage, more than $100,000 in savings (including eliminating one sales role and canceling two vehicle leases), significant time savings on reporting, under 1% customer complaints after switching to dynamic routes, reduced overtime and improved staffing and service.
