Kennolyn Camps, a Santa Cruz–based coed summer camp founded in 1946 with three programs serving about 2,400 campers annually, needed a better way to handle seasonal spikes in inquiries, staffing questions, and enrollment leads without relying on phone calls that interrupted staff. Their prior free chat tool looked and performed poorly, and the team wanted a multitasking solution that would let directors answer multiple visitors quickly while staying present with campers.
In 2016 Kennolyn implemented Olark, using features like HubSpot integration, pre-chat forms, offline message capture, automated greeters and targeted greetings, and message shortcuts to qualify leads and respond faster. The result: fewer phone calls, higher chat-handling capacity, more time on camp grounds, and a steady pipeline of captured leads and logged transcripts that the team tracks through HubSpot to measure conversions.
