A Olark Case Study
Conspire is an introductions platform that builds a personalized social graph from users’ email data to help them request and trace introductions. After a TechCrunch feature, the site experienced a 100x traffic spike and needed a way to answer nuanced questions quickly and reassure users about data privacy; later, the company faced the ongoing challenge of keeping a 30M-email graph accurate when automated profile-building produced many errors.
Conspire used Olark live chat to provide immediate responses during the traffic surge and to capture profile-correction feedback over time. By adding a “report this profile” trigger that opens the chat and attaches metadata, the team can fix profiles in real time or collect user-submitted emails for later correction — a process that’s already led to hundreds of fixes and continues to improve data quality and customer trust.
