CommitChange.com is a fundraising platform that builds customized campaign tools for nonprofits (serving 300+ organizations and enabling more than 9,000 donors in 2014). As a 2013 startup with a minimal website, their challenge was proactively engaging visitors, answering questions quickly, and converting browses into signups without a large sales team.

They implemented Olark for proactive, personalized live chat—everyone on the team takes turns monitoring chats, uses geo-targeting to tailor conversations, and focuses on getting users onto a free plan. About 60–70% of chats are proactive, many interactions take under five minutes, and early Olark leads produced roughly 20 paying customers; chat also supplies product feedback that informs new features as they scale toward 1,000 nonprofits.
