Vodafone India, a division of the leading global telecommunications company Vodafone, faced the challenge of preventing its young prepaid subscribers from switching to competitors. They hired the vendor OgilvyOne Worldwide to use social media, specifically Facebook, to build a deeper brand relationship with this 18- to 24-year-old demographic.
OgilvyOne’s solution was the creation of the Zoozoos, a series of quirky and humorous characters featured in short, shareable videos and social content. This campaign generated a massive impact: Vodafone India gained 10 million new subscribers, the Zoozoos Facebook page became the world's most active telecom fan page with over 90 million monthly organic impressions, and Vodafone achieved four times more interactions per fan than its nearest competitor.
