Bayer Canada, a repeat Top 100 Employer with a 92% employee engagement rate, needed a way to inspire continual innovation and make employees feel valued for both individual and team achievements. The challenge was to design a flexible, branded recognition program aligned to Bayer’s LIFE values (Leadership, Integrity, Flexibility, Efficiency) that delivered meaningful, interactive celebrations while giving administrators centralized reporting and budget controls.

Partnering with O.C. Tanner, Bayer launched the “You Make Life Better” program in March 2014, offering branded on-the-spot awards (Applause), highest-achievement Ovation Awards, Life Milestones, retirement Ambassador awards, and eCards. With tailored communications, executive buy-in, and full manager utilization of recognition budgets, the program transformed recognition from cash transactions into interactive experiences and produced over 1,000 appreciation moments.
