A Nutanix Case Study
Serco Inc., a major provider of technology and management services to U.S. federal, military and commercial customers, faced an aggressive mandate to build four new virtual call centers—over 4,000 desktops—within three months. The team needed a cost-effective, scalable infrastructure that could be rapidly deployed and easily managed across multiple remote sites.
Serco selected the Nutanix Virtual Computing Platform (with VMware Horizon View) to converged compute and storage in a compact, pay-as-you-grow appliance. The result: all 4,000 virtual desktops deployed across four sites in the three-month window, roughly halving server and storage TCO, doubling VDI user density, cutting datacenter rack space by half, and simplifying management and replication so Serco can configure systems quickly, migrate VMs with minimal downtime, and operate 4,000 desktops with a small admin team.
