3M, the Minnesota-based multinational, faced a fragmented, largely decentralized approach to leader development that limited reach, practicality and measurable impact. To ignite a growth mindset and create a more experiential, scalable learning culture, 3M partnered with NovoEd and its social, cohort-based learning platform to deliver personalized, practice-focused leadership experiences across regions and modalities.
NovoEd’s platform converted content (including The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People) into social learning cohorts with peer feedback, multimedia reflection galleries, multilingual delivery and upskilled facilitators, giving 3M visibility into engagement and outcomes. In a 9‑month social learning rollout vs. 12 months of VILT, 3M ran 17 social classes averaging 184 learners each with a 24% dropout and 70%+ completion (vs. VILT’s 42 learners/class, 50% dropout, 55% completion); social learning also scored significantly higher on application and belief that training would improve performance—outcomes made visible and provable through NovoEd.
