A Notion Case Study
SmartNews, a global news company, needed a better way to manage knowledge as its team expanded across Japan and the U.S. Its information was scattered across tools and becoming hard to search, making it difficult for employees to find policies, meeting notes, project details, and other essential information. SmartNews turned to Notion to create a centralized digital office for wikis, notes, and project management.
With Notion, SmartNews built company-wide and department-specific wikis, project pages, kanban boards, and shared documentation for both English and Japanese employees. The result was a more transparent and connected workplace where teams could quickly find context, share updates, and collaborate across silos. While the case study doesn’t cite specific numeric gains, SmartNews reports that Notion made documentation more lasting, improved visibility across teams, and helped keep everyone moving forward as one unit.
